Case Information
Our firm has obtained a number of multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements for injured people and their families. We are proud of having helped make a difference in the lives of these clients. However, keep in mind that the RESULTS WE ACHIEVE DEPEND ON THE FACTS OF EACH CASE AND WE CANNOT GUARANTEE ANY PARTICULAR RESULT IN ANY CASE.

[*]Delayed Diagnosis of Cancer
[*]Negligent Pap Smear Screening
A Dallas pathology lab failed to recognize the clear signs of cancer on a patient's pap smear. As a result, a young woman with a family needlessly died. Through discovery, the Law Offices of Vic Terry learned that the lab's employees were reading an excessive number of slides, thus increasing the risk of making mistakes. The resulting settlement, one of the largest of its kind in the nation, helped alert the medical community to the serious problems with some pap smear labs.

[*]Brain Damage
[*]Injuries During Birth
A hospital failed to properly train its nurses on how to operate and read fetal monitoring equipment. As a result, a baby suffered severe brain damage when the nursing staff failed to respond to clear signs of fetal distress. A Dallas County jury awarded what was then the largest medical negligence verdict in the county's history.

[*]Defective Ladders
A landscaper fell from a defectively designed step ladder, crushing his spine and rendering him a quadriplegic. After retaining numerous engineers, and performing extensive discovery, which included obtaining a Court order releasing all of the ladder manufacturer's testing and design documents, the Law Offices of Vic Terry used computer animation to recreate the ladder's failure and demonstrate how the defect contributed to causing the man to fall. This resulted in a settlement large enough to move the client out of a nursing home and into his own home, where he now lives a relatively independent life and receives the care and therapy necessary to cope with his injuries.

[*]Delayed Diagnosis of Meningitis
A physician and hospital staff failed to recognize the signs of a devastating infection, meningococcemia, a form of meningitis. This negligence led to delays which allowed the infection to cause devastating injuries to a three year old child; she lost both legs and one arm due to the delayed treatment. The Law Offices of Vic Terry negotiated a settlement which provided the child with all necessary and available prosthetic devices, advanced medical treatment and therapy, a specially-equipped home, and a permanent trust fund to compensate her over her lifetime.

[*]Construction Injuries
The roof of a water storage tank under construction was not properly reinforced. As a result, the roof collapsed and a young man suffered subtle, yet devastating brain injuries. Through highly sophisticated presentations, including the testimony of physicians, neuropsychologists, rehabilitation experts and life care planners, the Law Offices of Vic Terry obtained a settlement sufficient to provide the young man and his family the permanent care and services he and his family needed.
A wall of earth collapsed at a construction site, and left a young man with a devastating brain injury. Detailed investigation revealed that the contractor had failed to properly evaluate the soil content or provide adequate shoring to prevent the collapse. The Law Offices of Vic Terry created a detailed technical presentation of medical and engineering evidence which resulted in a settlement sufficient to provide the man with custom living arrangements and full-time, quality care throughout his life.

[*]Trucking Injuries
A truck driver suffered tremendous injuries when another truck ran a stopsign and pulled out in front of him. Discovery revealed that the defendant trucking company had not properly screened or tested the driver before hiring him, and had failed to provide him with any safety training. After two weeks of trial, the defendant agreed to a settlement which covered the man's future medical treatment and allowed him to provide for his family. This case also led to improvements in the way trucking companies screen and train drivers.
